About MeMy name is Alistair J Parker and I am located near the Fylde coast in the North West of England. My interest in the visual arts began when I developed my first photograph at the age of 13. I returned to serious photography about 30 years later and soon became involved in competitive photography at local and national level achieving a number of distinctions. Despite my photography I was still creatively frustrated. Early retirement provided the opportunity to expand my interest in the visual arts by joining a Life Class at the local Art School. This led to a Foundation Course in Art and Design and ultimately to studying for Hons degree in Fine Art and Professional Practice, which is ongoing. My interest in photography is quite eclectic as can be seen from my photoblogs (see links). During the past few years I have been developing a number of experimental fine art photographic styles. The work draws heavily on digital manipulation of imagery as a source of inspiration and material for my work. My fine art portfolio is comprised mainly of work developed through a fusion of photography and mixed media processes. I have created a number of processes which give my work a unique style. The concept behind my work is driven by the process and the aesthetic of the final image. The final image is important to me, if it appeals to someone else, that is a bonus which gives me great pleasure. My photography and fine art works are being handled by Wills Art Warehouse, Putney, London.
